As a blogger or a writer, it’s very common to experience a writer’s block…

And it can be the worst thing, ever.

Ideas are like a treasure for us.

The more we have the better.

That is why a writer’s block very scary. When I had my first writer’s block, I almost flipped. I didn’t know what to do, and I didn’t how to solve it.

I mean, If you don’t have any ideas to write on, how will you be able to call yourself a writer?

And I know that a lot of you have experienced this before, at least once in their career.

I mean..I know I did.

That is why today I’ll be listing writer’s block solutions to help you out.

Sometimes, and I MEAN, sometimes a writer’s block was actually a blessing because it helped get my mind back to work in better circumstances. 

But most of the time it isn’t, it’s stressful, scary, makes your self-esteem go low, and a lot of other s*it.

So, today I’m here to relieve all of your problems. 

Well, not really. Just the writer block one.

Writer’s Block Solutions

Before I introduce you to my magical spell, I’ll first give you a little glimpse of what a writer block is, in case you don’t know what it is! 

A Writer block is like a handicap for writers. It’s no longer being able to think of any new topic or to write anything at all. 

It’s being skinned from your main survival skill, your work, and your passion, which is writing.

A writer’s block can be caused by a lot of things, but mainly because of stress. So, if you’re going through a stressful situation or period, then that’s the reason why you’re lacking creativity.

What is the Writer Block’s Cure?

And as much as I’d like to say I’ve found the perfect formula…. Lying isn’t for me.

Surpassing a writer’s block isn’t as easy as it seems.

I’ve gathered all the tips I came across and tried myself, so hopefully, this writer block’s cure will work for you as it did for me.

So how what is the ultimate writer block cure and how can you overcome it?

Here are my few tips:

  1. Write everyday
  2. Practice a hobby
  3. Write either late at night or early in the morning
  4. Eliminate distraction
  5. Exercise

Write Every Day

When I first started blogging and suffered from my first writer block, there is one thing that I kept doing.

And it’s writing every day. 

What stuck with me during that phase, was that a lot of other blogs said this as well.

As a solution to writer block, a lot of blogs/people I know advised me to keep writing. 

And so I did.

At first, I was clueless and didn’t realize how important this advice is, but I still did it.

Thank god I did.

Writing every day, even for only 30 minutes stimulates the brain and keeps it working which actually helps you think of new ideas to discuss and write about.

JUST WRITE.

Your writing doesn’t have to be perfect and Grammarly correct.

Freewriting is enough.

For those of you who are not familiar with freewriting, then it’s simply writing without minding any punctuation or grammar.

It’s writing at your ease, letting your hands do their work without overthinking it.

Go ahead and get your hand to work, allow yourself to be FREE with freewriting.

See what I did? Pun intended.

Allow words to get stuck in your brain until they produce a valuable idea & help you get rid of your writer block.

Practice a Hobby

Now, this has really helped me, a lot.

It might seem utopian but it actually works.

Now a lot of you will be asking, how the f can practising a hobby can cure my writer block?

Well, allow me to explain.

Stepping away from writing for a while and just concentrating on doing what you like and practising your hobbies stimulates the creative part of your brain.

Go ahead, draw a picture, paint a scene, dance like it’s the end of the world.

Whatever floats your boat, but make sure you enjoy it and give your brain a rest.

This helps you power the creative part of your brain, and get it to work.

This exercise will help you come up with new ideas, and eventually overcome your writer’s block.

Easy peasy, but it works like magic.

Not only will you be able to have fun doing what you love, but it’ll also help you get back on your feet quicker than you anticipated and go back to writing masterpieces!

Write Either Late at Night or Early in the Morning

This one is probably one of the most important writer’s block solutions.

Do you want to know when is your brain fully functioning? 

Two answers, early in the morning, or late at night.

So if you’re a morning person, then good news for you. You can use this to your advantage.

Wake up early in the morning, drink a glass of water, exercise if you’d like, and start writing.

It doesn’t matter if it’s for 30 minutes or an hour, the most important thing is to get your hands and your fingers moving.

You’ll be able to overcome your writer’s block in just a few days if you follow this advice, it is the ultimate writer block cure.

Now if you’re a night owl like me, that probably means that you’re a creative person. 

I read this somewhere, not sure if it’s true, but at least I’m giving you some hope here.

Before you go to bed, get your pencil or your laptop and start producing content.

Whatever it is, just write until you’re out of ink or thoughts.

Write until your eyes get so heavy you can no longer keep them open.

Do this and I guarantee, you’ll get your content ready in no time and overcome your writer’s block.

Eliminate Distraction

Distractions are creativity’s greatest enemy.

You can’t activate your creative mindset if you’re surrounded by distractions.

Starting from your phone to your wifi.

So what can you do? 

Simple, give yourself some time to write every day, either in the morning or late at night.

Make a plan for your day and specify which hours you’ll be writing.

In those few hours, get rid of any distraction that will stop you from working.

If you write nonstop, for every day in the minutes or hours you’ve specified, then congratulations!

You’ll be able to write again, as you used to, or even better, in no time!

Exercise

Move your body and start dancing or exercising, go for a walk, start jogging.

Whatever it is.

The most important thing is to move your body.

If you move your body, your brain follows.

Burn some calories, have fun doing it and your brain will start working out too by producing some ideas on its own.

It’s its own form of work out, so now you know what to do, get those calories burning.

Start walking or dancing, in no time you’ll find ideas rushing to your head as if you were hit by a tornado.

Relax your body, and your brain will become more open to the suggestions of its environment.

Even the smallest object around you can help you think of new ideas and find out new things to write about.

All About Writer’s Block Solutions

As a writer, I’ve suffered so many time of writer’s blocks.

Now that I’m on my third year of freelancing, I was able to overcome so many writers’ blocks with this simple guide.

It wasn’t the easiest thing, but it was certainly a good reminder of how “human” I am.

Just so you know, these writer’s lock solutions are the ultimate thing.
