As a new blogger, one of the things that will help you boost your traffic is SEO.
SEO writing is a type of writing that will help you find the topics to target as a new blogger, and that will bring you traffic.
As a freelance writer, SEO was one of the first things I’ve learned that helped me make $$$$ in freelance writing, but that also helped me grow my blog.
Now, SEO writing isn’t as easy as you think.
You’ll need to learn a lot of things about keyword research, which is the hardest part and then implement them in a natural way in your blog, which is the easiest part.
What helped me as a new blogger find new topics to blog about, was Pinterest.
By using Pinterest, I was able to find new topics to write about, and by using SEO, I was able to rank for them, hence, I got a lot of traffic.
So, in order to help you out, I came up with a guide that will make you learn so much about SEO writing, and how to leverage Pinterest for your own benefit.
What Is SEO Writing?
Before we dive into what SEO writing is, we should first figure out what SEO is.
SEO stands for search engine optimization and it’s the practice of making your website optimized for search engines.
SEO doesn’t only include keyword research but it covers all things related to:
- Keyword Research
By using SEO, you’ll be able to rank 0 (which refers to the featured snippet), first, second, or even third on SERPS.
So, what does have writing have to do anything with this?
SEO writing is basically researching relevant keywords that will help you rank and implementing them correctly in your content and title in order for Google to pick them up and give you your rightful place on their SERPS.
So, this means that SEO writing is basically there to help you rank for search engines.
Some people choose to not use SEO for the first year, and some bloggers like me use SEO from the first year.
Why? Because I want to get out of the Google Sandbox much faster!
Finding Blog Post Topics For SEO
To be able to rank for search engines and look for keywords in the first place you might find topics.
So, here’s how you can find blog post topics:
- Think of a topic you want to write about or that your audience wants you to write about
- Look if the topic is already talked about on Google and if big blogs are ranking for it
- If big blogs are ranking for it, think of another topic
- If your topic is big-blogs-free, then write about it
Now here’s how you can search for keywords:
- Think about which words you can use to look up the topic
- Check free SEO tools to see how much traffic it gets
- Check if you can rank for it
- Check out Google suggestion
One that is done, then it’s time to implement the keywords in:
- Your title
- Your content depending on the length (use Yoast for this)
- In your subheadings
- In your permalink
If you can’t find blog post topics on your own, then you can simply use Pinterest
Finding Blog Post Topics from and for Pinterest
If you’ve read some of my previous blog posts, you’ll notice that I talk about Pinterest a lot.
Why is that? because Pinterest is another search engine that I love so much.
Using other social media to use your content might not be as effective as Pinterest, do you know why? Because people who use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc use it to say on it.
They won’t to click on other links and be redirected to other websites.
On the other hand, people who use Pinterest use it in order to be redirected to websites. They’re ready for it, and they use Pinterest only for it.
That’s why it’s easier to make your blog successful using Pinterest than any other platform.
Since Pinterest is much more of a search engine than a social media, it’s easy to use it to find some blog post topic ideas.
I personally use it all the time to find out blog post topics ideas.
All you have to do is go to the search bar, enter a keyword, and enjoy the topic ideas that you’ll find.
Under the search bar, you’ll find suggestions for other keywords and keyphrases that you can use.
This shows you the keywords people use to search for that topic and that you can use for your SEO writing.
Using SEO Writing and Pinterest for Blog Topics
Google and Pinterest are both search engines that I love so much and that I want you to use them as well.
By using SEO & Pinterest for topic ideas, you’ll be able to gain traffic from them both.
You’ll be able to get some of Google’s love, and some of Pinterest’s love.
So, what better way to make a blog successful than this?
SEO for Google & Pinterest
Now that we’ve reached this section, it’s time to let you know how to use SEO for Pinterest as well.
Because yes, you need SEO for pins.
- First, choose the right keyword to use on Pinterest.
- Second, write a compelling description for your pin using the keyword.
- Third, use the right hashtags
- Fourth, use the keyword in the title
- Fifth, hit publish
